Close your eyes, relax, let the music take you to the dark and emotional journey, which you will never forget. This is possible, thanks to Sound Animal from Berkeley, California. A full-length album “NewSoundLand” welcomes you with a beautiful artwork, and catches the attention with some unique aura. An impressive arsenal of instruments used on this pretty long record (guitar, bow, silver flute, double shepherd’s flute, pungi, jaw harp, khaen, electric tennis racket, overtones, melodica, harmonica, bodhrán and found objects) generate a very diverse sound landscape. The music opens you a wide range of possibilities to use your imagination and make your own experience. This is an unexpected surprise foe anyone who likes avant-garde ambient, which is not similar to most soundtrack music thought. For some listeners this record may be hard to get into and listen it through, but is will definitely blow your mind. 9/10
